Striped Bass Fishing on Nantucket is HOT!
The striped bass fishing on Nantucket this past week has been really good. The fish are in the rips, in the shallows and just about everywhere else. Nice fish are being caught too. We have fished east, fished west and also fished in the harbors and everywhere seems to be producing fish. Most fish are in the 30″ to 38″ range with few being caught smaller then that. Which is great for here and now, but what about next year and the years to come? Where are the small ones?
On another front, the Bluefin tuna fishing to getting real good too. I have reports from Portland ME stick boats to rod and reel anglers on Nantucket, all enjoying multiple fish days. Most fish are in the 60-65 inch range with the odd 70-80 inch fish thrown in. The fish I have seen on bait have been eating; herring, mac’s, bunker, sand eels and squid.
